#015: Matt Holder - Build a Database of 200 in Less Than 3 Months, Lead Generation, Prospecting, Contract to Close Systems

1. Time Blocking

Interview after interview, the number 1 issue that every business owner has the opportunity for improvement on is time blocking. “Concentrate all of your thoughts upon the work at hand.” - Alexander Graham Bell. Time blocking takes all of your energy and focus and centers it on your most important work.

What is the ONE THING I can do for my ONE THING, such that by doing it, everything else will be easier or unnecessary.

2. Lead Generation

Lead generation is building relationships. You’re doing one of two things when lead generating: prospecting or marketing. Prospecting is the proactive way to generate business. You cannot just sit by the phone and wait for it to ring. Earn the right to ask for business. You can’t ask for business if you don’t care about them or ask how they are.

3. Contract to Close Systems

It doesn’t matter how well you know how to handle the business if there is not any business to handle. Build relationships consistently and focus on that before anything else. Being competent in the contract is a non-negotiable, but after the 2nd or 3rd transaction, things become easier and you will learn it.
